David H. Burkard, DMD
Dr. David Burkard was born and raised in New Britain and has been a lifelong resident of Connecticut. He attended the University of Connecticut in Storrs where he was selected to the honors program. He graduated Magna cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in Biology and was also selected to membership in the honor society Phi Beta Kappa. Dr. Burkard then attended the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine where he both earned his DMD degree and met his wife of 27 years.
Dave then entered private practice and performed general dentistry for two years before deciding to return to the University of Connecticut to pursue his specialty training in Endodontics. While attending his residency he conducted a research project that led to a published article in the peer reviewed Journal of Endodontics. He was also appointed chief resident for the second year of his program.
Dave continues his strong ties with the University of Connecticut as a part-time Assistant Clinical Professor at the UConn Dental School. He is also a member of the Hartford Dental Society, where he serves as a director on the board of the society, the Connecticut State Dental Association, the American Dental Association, the Connecticut Association of Endodontist, and the American Association of Endodontists. He has also been named as one of Connecticut’s and Hartford’s Top Dentists.
In his spare time Dave enjoys spending time with his wife and two boys, playing tennis, sailing, and of course rooting for his Huskys.
